What's going on?
June 2010

Well, we've had two beautiful foals.  It's amazing how much the new filly Rhea looks like Stirling her half brother from 2008.  They could be twins!  We had a little issue with Xena when she foaled with colic but luckily I have a great vet and he was out here in no time!    As we go into the second week of June it looks like the welding company is going to start fixing the hay barn which was damaged this winter in the heavy snows.  It'll be nice to have a barn that doesn't look like a crushed tin can.  We've had beautiful weather.  I love summer.  The cows still haven't calved yet.  They look like they swallowed haybales poor things.  We figured since all of them (including our bull) were young last year they just bred late.  So we will just not breed this year to get everyone on the same schedule.  It will be good for the yearlings anyway to wait.

Matt's been working hard with the tractor moving dirt to make better runs around the stable.  That little Kubota rarely has a day off even when Matt has a long day shoeing!   I don't know how we did without it.

I will try to be better about updating the site as much as I can.  Take care and God Bless.  Go Munster (rugby)!
